Ghost in the Shell

Recently I borrowed “Ghost in the Shell-Stand alone complex” 1st and 2nd DVDs from my friend. I’ve already seen the movie but never had a chance to see this series. I’m not going to comment on it yet, as I have just started to watch them and so I decided to just put a short overview of this story along with a trailer that I found on Youtube.

Ghost in the Shell (Kokaku Kidoutai- Mobile Armored Riot Police) is a futuristic police thriller dealing with the exploits of Motoko Kusanagi, a member of the covert operations section of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission, Section 9, which specializes in fighting technology-related crime.

It is originally from a Japanese cyberpunk manga created by Masamune Shirou. Over the years, the manga series has been adapted into the following three anime films:
Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell2:Innocence, and Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society. And two tv series: Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex and Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig.

“The Matrix, a 1999 sci-fi action movie, contains imagery strongly influenced by Ghost in the Shell (as well as other anime). For example, the Matrix digital rain (the falling patterns of green text that represent the code of the Matrix) resembles the opening of the first 1995 Ghost in the Shell film. What is the Matrix? This is. Watch this film, you won't believe how much The Matrix stole from this.”

Here is the 2 Japanese Trailers for the new Stand Alone Complex Movie
“This is the film that influenced and inspired The Matrix trilogy”
