Holding Pattern

Here is a short film 'Holding Pattern' done by our group!!

1.) What does the 'character' do that illuminates her character?
Her face expression when she is sitting in the office. Her eyes moving from side to side expresses her nervous feeling of being in the government office.
And a scene where she stands next to the grass verge, she looks annoyed. My favorite part is when she kicks the duck out of the screen. The sound for the duck goes really well with the scene. This part shows how the character doens't really care about animal abuse.

2.) What does the 'film-maker' do that illuminates his character?
There are more about the film-maker than characters in this film. The close-up of the face of a character expresses the character feeling uncomfortable being in that office. The two different shots at the end of the film; CU of a character taking out the letter and LS of her ripping the letter up expresses how she is annoyed and just want to go home.

I think this film is quite different from the other ones that we've seen in the seminar; such as having written dialogue in some of the scenes and several different background music throughout the film.

It would have been better if the font size of the written dialogue was bigger, as might be hard to read especially in smaller sized screen (e.g. Youtube).

We had a really hard time booking the equipment and rooms. It also took quite a long time to edit and burn them onto DVD and it was really stressful at times. But through doing this project, I've learnt how to use Final cut pro in Mac and I think this will help me a lot when I do more project throughout the year.
